Firebase development company
A Firebase development company builds web and mobile apps on Firebase, Google’s platform for sign-in, databases, file storage, hosting and push notifications, and fixes Firebase apps that have outgrown their first setup. Zoti builds and maintains Firebase apps with a full team and a dedicated project manager, starting at $499/month.

What Firebase is and what it is good at
Firebase is a Google platform that gives app developers ready-made backend pieces so they do not have to build and run their own servers. The main ones are Authentication (email, phone and social sign-in), Cloud Firestore and the older Realtime Database for storing data, Cloud Storage for files, Cloud Functions for server-side code, Hosting for websites, Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and Crashlytics and Analytics for seeing how the app behaves in the wild.
Its strength is speed to a working app, especially on mobile. Data updates appear on every connected device in real time, apps keep working offline and sync when the connection returns, and Firebase has official SDKs for iOS, Android, the web, Flutter and more. For an MVP, a booking app, a chat feature or a field app that has to work with patchy signal, it removes a lot of work.
When Firebase is the right choice, and when it is not
Firebase is a good choice for mobile apps built in Flutter, React Native or Swift, for MVPs where getting in front of users quickly matters most, and for features that depend on live updates, like chat, job status boards or shared lists.
The trade-offs show up as an app grows. Firestore is a document database, so questions like “total revenue by customer by month” that are one line of SQL in a relational database need extra work, such as copying data into BigQuery or keeping running totals. Costs are based largely on reads and writes, so a screen that loads too much data on every visit can grow the bill fast. Security depends entirely on well-written security rules, and weak rules are one of the most common problems in Firebase apps. And because so much is Firebase-specific, moving away later takes real effort.
If your data is heavily relational, with lots of reports, joins and accounting-style records, a PostgreSQL-based backend, including Postgres-based platforms such as Supabase, is often the better long-term fit. Plenty of apps also use both: Firebase for sign-in, notifications and live features, and a SQL database for reporting.
What we build as a Firebase development company
- iOS and Android apps with Firebase sign-in, data, file uploads and push notifications.
- Real-time features: job status updates for field crews, live order boards, in-app chat.
- MVPs for founders who need a working product in users’ hands to test the idea.
- Admin dashboards and web portals that sit on the same Firebase data as the mobile app.
- Cloud Functions that send emails and texts, take payments through Stripe and sync with other systems.
- Reporting setups that copy Firestore data into BigQuery for proper dashboards.
- Security rule and cost audits for existing apps, with fixes.
Firebase consultant, freelancer or development company?
Many mobile developers know Firebase, so a freelancer is easy to find for a small app or a specific fix. The common problem is that Firebase makes the first version easy and the important decisions, like how data is structured and how security rules are written, invisible until they cause trouble.
A Firebase consultant is useful when an existing app is slow, expensive or worrying from a security point of view. A good review looks at the data model, security rules, function code and billing together.
A Firebase development company like Zoti covers the whole app: design, the mobile and web front ends, the Firebase backend, any extra services it needs and ongoing changes, with a dedicated project manager, on a monthly plan from $499/month. If Firebase is the wrong foundation for what you are building, we will tell you before you build on it.
How we review an existing Firebase app
- Read the rulesWe check Firestore and Storage security rules for data that anyone signed in, or anyone at all, can read or change.
- Trace the costsWe match the bill to the screens and functions that cause it, and find reads that can be cut.
- Review the data modelWe look at how collections are structured and whether they will hold up as users and records grow.
- Fix in priority orderSecurity fixes first, then cost and performance, then new features, each in rounds you review.
- Add what is missingBackups, monitoring, a test environment and, where needed, a SQL database for reporting.
More cloud & data software: mongoDB, AWS, postgreSQL and google Cloud.
Common questions
Is Firebase good for production apps?
Yes. Many production apps run on Firebase. It works best when the data model and security rules are designed carefully from the start and the app does not depend on complex reporting directly from Firestore.
How much does it cost to build a Firebase app?
It depends on the screens, platforms and integrations. Zoti custom projects start at $499/month, covering design, development, hosting and ongoing changes, with a written quote first. Firebase usage is billed by Google separately and depends on how much the app is used.
Why is my Firebase bill so high?
Usually because screens read more documents than they need, listeners stay open longer than necessary, or functions run in loops. A review that ties the bill to specific screens and functions normally finds the main causes.
Firebase or Supabase?
Firebase is very strong for mobile, offline use and real-time updates. Supabase is built on PostgreSQL, so it suits apps with relational data and heavy reporting. Both are good; the shape of your data should decide.
Can you move our app off Firebase?
Yes, though it takes planning, since sign-in, data and functions all need a new home. Often the better first step is moving only the part that hurts, such as reporting, to a SQL database while the rest stays on Firebase.
