Zoho consultant and developer
A Zoho consultant sets up and connects Zoho apps such as Zoho CRM, Books, Desk and Creator, and writes Deluge scripts and integrations so they work as one system for your business. Zoti provides Zoho development and consulting for small and growing businesses, and builds fully custom software when Zoho runs out of room, starting at $499/month.

What Zoho is good at
Zoho makes a very wide range of business apps: CRM, accounting (Books), help desk (Desk), projects, recruiting, inventory, forms, analytics and many more, sold separately or as the Zoho One bundle. For a small business, the appeal is getting most of its software from one vendor at a modest cost, with a shared login and built-in connections between apps.
Zoho is also more customizable than its price suggests. Zoho CRM supports custom modules, layouts, blueprints that enforce process steps, and workflow rules. Zoho Creator is a low-code platform for building your own apps. Across all of them, Deluge, Zoho’s own scripting language, handles custom functions, and Zoho Flow and the REST APIs connect Zoho to outside software.
When Zoho is the right choice, and when it is not
Zoho fits well when you want a broad set of tools at a reasonable cost and are willing to spend some setup time. It works best when most of your software can live inside Zoho.
- Harder: the apps are made by different teams inside Zoho, so they do not always behave the same way, and connecting them properly often takes custom work.
- Harder: busy interfaces mean training matters. A team that wants something very simple may prefer Pipedrive or HubSpot for CRM.
- Harder: Zoho Creator apps are quick to build but bound by the platform’s limits on logic, design and performance. Complex apps with many users can outgrow it.
- Compared with Salesforce, Zoho CRM is lighter to run and cheaper to scale, with less depth and a smaller consultant and app ecosystem.
What we build as your Zoho consultant
- Zoho CRM setup and cleanup: modules, fields, layouts, pipelines, blueprints, assignment rules and reports.
- Deluge functions for logic the point-and-click tools cannot do, such as calculations, record syncing and calls to outside APIs.
- Connections between Zoho CRM, Books, Desk, Projects and Inventory so a won deal becomes a project, an invoice and a support account without retyping.
- Zoho Creator apps for internal processes, such as inspections, approvals and job tracking.
- Integrations with non-Zoho software (phone systems, payment tools, ecommerce, industry software) using the Zoho APIs and webhooks.
- Data migration into Zoho from spreadsheets or another CRM, with duplicates merged before go-live.
- Custom web apps or portals that sit beside Zoho and read from it, for when a process needs more than Creator can give.
Hiring a Zoho consultant: your options
- Zoho freelancer: affordable for a single setup or a few Deluge functions. Coverage across many Zoho apps and outside integrations is less common.
- Zoho-focused agency: knows the suite well and is good for a full rollout. Some lean toward solving everything inside Zoho even when a custom app would be simpler.
- In-house Zoho admin: helpful when Zoho runs the business and changes weekly. Hard to hire for, and one person rarely covers admin and development.
- Zoti’s monthly team: a project manager plus developers who handle Zoho configuration, Deluge and integrations, and who can build fully custom software when that is the better answer. Plans start at $499/month and include ongoing changes.
How a Zoho project works
- List your Zoho apps and data flowsWe map which apps you use, what each one holds, and where information is copied by hand between them.
- Find the gapsWe note which problems Zoho settings can solve, which need Deluge or integrations, and which need something custom.
- Quote and designYou get a written quote, and for any new screens, clickable designs before building.
- Build and test in roundsChanges are tested on sample records first, and you review each round before it goes live.
- Train and supportYour team is shown what changed, everything is documented, and your plan covers changes after launch.
More platforms software: salesforce, hubSpot, stripe and netSuite.
Common questions
What does a Zoho consultant do?
A Zoho consultant configures Zoho apps for your business, connects them to each other and to outside tools, writes Deluge scripts for custom logic, and helps migrate data. Some also build Zoho Creator apps.
How much does a Zoho consultant cost?
Costs depend on how many Zoho apps are involved and how much custom scripting and integration is needed. Many consultants bill hourly. Zoti works on monthly plans from $499/month, with a written quote before work starts.
What is Deluge in Zoho?
Deluge is Zoho’s scripting language. It runs inside Zoho apps to automate tasks, calculate values, update records across apps and call outside APIs, and it is the main way to add custom logic to Zoho.
Is Zoho Creator good enough for a custom business app?
For many internal tools, yes. It is quick to build in and connects easily to other Zoho apps. For complex logic, many users, customer-facing apps or full control over design, a custom-built app is usually the better long-term choice.
Can Zoho CRM integrate with software outside Zoho?
Yes. Zoho CRM has a REST API, webhooks and a marketplace of extensions. If a ready-made connector does not exist, a custom integration can sync the data both ways.
